Kosovan Fact 1 (Mar. 1–Mar. 7, 2009)

Kosovo is arguably not a country.  Fifty nations (a little more than a quarter of the world) recognize its independence from Serbia, which was declared in February of 2008.  Serbia, however, is not one of those countries, which makes the situation highly debatable.

Kosovan Fact 2 (Mar. 8–Mar. 14, 2009)

The six stars on Kosovo’s flag stand for their six major ethnic groups.  Unfortunately, I have no idea which six of the eight listed are the six on the flag; certainly Albanian and Serbian.  The other four come from among Bosniak, Gorani, Roma, Turk, Ashkali, and Egyptian.

Kosovan Fact 3 (Mar. 15–Mar. 21, 2009)

Enough berries are grown in Kosovo for them to make the list of major agricultural products.

Kosovan Fact 4 (Mar. 22–Mar. 28, 2009)

While Kosovo’s border with Serbia is disputed (Serbia doesn’t believe there is a border), Kosovo’s border with Macedonia was settled in September 2008, seven months into being a country.
