War in Central Europe!
Mar. 2, 2007
Okay, so not really, but this was a good enough story to post on the front page of this site under a big headline. As reported by the Associated Press on Friday, and brought to my attention by Katie, Switzerland accidentally invaded Liechtenstein during a training excercise when 170 Swiss troops got lost and crossed the border. We here at UG have to wonder how one country can invade another when the two countries involved share a military and almost everything else. We also wonder if Liechtenstien may be looking for a new military partner now after witnessing how inept the Swiss are at this war thing after centuries of neutrality.
Useful Information for Tourists in Luxembourg
Mar. 8, 2007
There are three things every international tourist needs to know how to say in the native language when visiting a foreign country: “Do you have a room for the night?,” “I’d like some food,” and “Where is the bathroom?.” You can ask all these in Luxembourg, but you may not like the answer to the last one. Luxembourg tops the list of countries with a latrine shortage according to a new report issued by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
