The Zimbabwean dollar has become almost worthless in the past 5 years, going from 5.7 to the U.S. dollar in 2004 to 30,000 in 2007.

Zimbabwean Fact 2 (June 5–June 11, 2005)

In 2007 there were an estimated 1.3 million people in Zimbabwe with HIV/AIDS.  This is like the entire state of New Hampshire being infected with the virus.  On the upside, this is half a million fewer than 2001.

Zimbabwe has 227 airports, but only 20 with paved runways.

Zimbabwe’s international trade deficit of $597 million is smaller than both the U.S. and the U.K.

Zimbabwe, a land-locked country with no water claims, is a member of the Law of the Sea agreement.  This is an international agreement in the UN mediating over ocean claims.
